Simple, 3-Step Setup

You don't need a toolkit to secure your shade. Get anchored in under two minutes:

1. Connect the Y-Strap: Wrap and secure one of the straps to your main umbrella pole by wrapping one Velcro end tightly around a canopy spoke at the runner ring and back to the locking Velcro.

2. Fill & Stake: Position the anchor bag so the strap is pulled tight, then fill the bag with sand. rocks, or any other heavy medium. Push the straight stakes through the metal corner loops (grommets) directly into the sand to lock it down.

3. For Heavier Winds: Wrap the other Velcro end securely around two of the umbrella's bonnet spokes to ensure stability during heavy winds.

Detailed Setup

Quick Install - Standard Wind Conditions

Use this single-point method for everyday use in light to moderate breezes. The other strap does not need to be used in this case.

1. Deploy the Umbrella: Insert your umbrella into the sand. Open your beach umbrella until the canopy is fully extended and the runner ring clicks into its locked position on the main center post.

2. Prepare the Anchor: Fill your ShadeSecure weight bag with sand, rocks, or other heavy-weighted medium and position it beneath the umbrella.

3. Secure the Y-Strap: Take one side of the Y-strap and wrap it firmly around the main umbrella post, just above the runner ring. Fasten it exactly where the umbrella's ring locks into place.
   
   

4. Apply Tension: Ensure the strap is taut so the weight of the bag puts slight pressure on the center post, locking the weight bag into the sand with the two stainless steel stakes provided.

Heavier Wind Install (Maximum Stability)

Use this dual-point method to prevent the umbrella from lifting, twisting, or inverting during heavier winds and/or strong gusts.

1. Deploy the Umbrella: Insert your umbrella into the sand as far as you can. Open your beach umbrella until the canopy is fully extended and the runner ring clicks into its locked position on the main center post.

2. Prepare the Anchor: Fill the ShadeSecure bag to maximum capacity and place it beneath the umbrella.

3. Anchor the Center Post: Wrap one side (both sides are the same length) of the Y-strap around the main umbrella post at the locking ring, just as you would for the Quick Install.
   
   

4. Anchor the Canopy: Route the second side of the Y-strap upward into the umbrella's canopy. Fasten it securely to one of the internal support ribs, positioning the strap precisely at the bend in the rib. Because umbrella designs vary, you may need to wrap the strap multiple times or adjust your fastening method to ensure equal tension across both straps. See option #1 or #2.

5. Lock the System: Ensure both sides of the Y-strap are pulled taut. This configuration simultaneously grounds the center pole and braces the canopy structure against inversion or spinning. Lock the weight bag into the sand with the two stainless steel stakes provided.
